Our Place Initiative # OPIetobicoke

Our Place Initiative is a not-for-profit, grassroots organization in Etobicoke whose role is to encourage, build and facilitate the level of civic engagement.

We believe that it is important that decisions are made in the public interest and reflect the needs of the Etobicoke community. Choices that impact our health, our jobs, and our livelihood should be made with community input. But in order for it to happen, a community needs to be engaged on the issues and provided with the opportunity to learn more about them, if they choose.

We believe in working together, and would like to work with you to foster community-based decision making. We know this is not a simple task, and not one that can happen overnight. For OPI, success is education, involvement and commitment. It’s about working with the community to create a positive view of their community and deepen the level of commitment to where they live.
