Comprised of a core group of seven leading musicians and regular guest artists from across Canada and the US, the Music in the Barns Chamber Ensemble hailed for bringing the concert experience to new social and experiential spheres and for transforming the landmark Artscape Wychwood Barns’ 7,500 sq. ft. Mainspace into a visually unique and acoustically superb concert hall. With distinctive features including multi-level staging, surround visual projections, and in-the-round seating, with repeat sold-out performances, the Ensemble’s Mainspace concert series is quicky gaining a reputation as Toronto’s go-to destination for concerts outside of the traditional concert hall. Inspiring a strong following of new generation audiences, seasoned listeners and the local community, the Ensemble has presented sold out performances of Canadian music by composers such as Nicole Lizée (Mtl), Rose Bolton (TO), Scott Godin (BC), Richard Reed Parry (Mtl) and Michael Oesterle (QC).
